Maui Coast sits in Kihei across from Kamaole Beach Park I. Fairmont Kea Lani is a Wailea suite-and-villa resort. Those are South Maui products with different formats and useful space.

Test the return from the longest outing
Put the Hana-side day and summit visit beside the actual room location. A beach hotel convenient for local resort days may still require a substantial early departure for one excursion. Keep the number of those long days realistic.
For a family, confirm the beds, bathroom and usable living space in the selected category. A beachfront property does not guarantee a beachfront or ocean-view room. Compare compulsory charges, parking and cancellation with the actual quote for the same dates.
One coast base can fill a week
Keeping one room allows the beach days to remain flexible around weather and the major excursions. A split between South and West Maui can be useful on a longer holiday with distinct local plans; it should not be the default for a week merely to sample two resort names.
