A lodge room and a tent cabin are different bookings
Yosemite Valley Lodge offers traditional, bunk and family-room products; the operator notes no in-room air conditioning. The Ahwahnee supplies another in-valley hotel format. Curry Village distinguishes tent cabins, wooden cabins and hotel rooms, with different heating and bathroom arrangements.
Rush Creek offers rooms, suites and hillside villas outside the park. Evergreen is an outside-park cabin property. Their recreation and pool facilities can be part of the stay, but the daily Valley approach belongs in the comparison as well.

Location before the room
Useful for arrival and separate park areas; use Valley shuttles where they fit.

The details that change the choice
Yosemite Valley
Early and late Valley time with less commuting. Availability and room types can be limited.
- Transport
- Walk and use operating Valley shuttles for suitable routes.
- Parking
- Confirm lodging parking and leave the car when practical.
- With children
- Convenience can outweigh a larger room outside the park.
- With pets
- Pet access is restricted on trails and shuttle services; read the exact park rules.
El Portal / Highway 140
A base on the western approach to the Valley. You still have an entrance and a drive before the day begins.
- Transport
- Check the route and any public-transport option from the actual property.
- Parking
- Ask whether parking is included and whether larger vehicles fit.
- With children
- A kitchen or pool may suit a family willing to commute.
- With pets
- Confirm both property permission and the park’s restrictions.
Wawona / South entrance
Southern Yosemite and giant-sequoia outings. Daily Valley visits require more driving.
- Transport
- Group south-side activities together.
- Parking
- Check seasonal access and the rental’s exact driveway.
- With children
- A cabin stay can suit a longer trip with time at the property.
- With pets
- Lodging permission does not extend to every park path.

Yosemite Valley Lodge
A Yosemite Valley lodge near Yosemite Falls, with traditional, bunk and family rooms.
- Why choose it
- A Valley-focused visit that reduces the daily approach drive and uses the shuttle or nearby walks.
- Keep in mind
- Rooms have fans and heaters rather than air conditioning. A family room has a particular layout and upstairs location; check access before choosing it.
Property details
- Family layout
- The Family King Room lists a king bed, a double-bottom/single-top bunk and a sofa. Standard rooms have different bed arrangements.
- Seasonal pool
- Read the current seasonal pool with Yosemite Valley Lodge; this published condition is due for review. Do not assume the same inclusion for a new booking. The outdoor pool is listed for Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting; use current dates rather than assuming a year-round swim.Checked 2026-10-09 · Source

Compare the same complete stay
| Check | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Total price | Same dates, people and rooms; mandatory fees and taxes identified; parking added if needed. |
| Room | Actual beds, bathroom arrangement, stairs or elevator, air conditioning and accessibility features you require. |
| Cancellation | Deadline, property time zone, deposit, refund conditions and whether the quoted rate is refundable. |
| Arrival | Check-in window, late arrival, luggage storage and a working route from your transport. |
There are no live room prices in this guide. Use the provider’s current availability and complete quote when you compare.
Start the cabin comparison with heat and bathrooms
Choose the actual sleeping arrangement, bathroom and heating product before evaluating a cabin’s character. For a cold-season stay, the selected unit’s heating and bathroom arrangement are decisive. Compare those features for the exact room or cabin category.
With children, usable living space and the return after a park day matter. With mobility needs, confirm the room route and chosen park outing separately. A provider’s general accessibility page cannot answer the surface and slope of every trail.

A confirmed room does not confirm the higher-country day
Use the current NPS conditions for the approach from the hotel and any planned mountain road. A reservation at an outside lodge does not make Tioga or Glacier Point access available, and a Valley room does not guarantee a space at every trailhead.
Keep the main Valley day and the room together, with a conditional second outing. Compare the full quote and cancellation using the same dates and party. Current operations and entry requirements remain separate provider and park checks.
